Write a 5-row reflection on what you know about perspectives

  1. I know that perspectives are the way you look at things. Each person has a very different perspective in each issue because of the information they have and the experiences they have. It is important to look at different perspectives to get a better idea of the issue as a whole. Every article that is written has a perspective on the issue and it often depends on their previous ideas and values. Reading articles from only one perspective can create a bias.

  2. A perspective is the position from which someone sees a topic. Perspectives tend to bias most topics because, when you go online and research about a topic, you get different articles with different perspectives. These articles often argue in favor of a perspective, but doesn't recognize the other perspectives on the topic. Understanding all perspectives is important to understand everyone and decide on a perspective.

  3. Perspectives are the different lenses in which people see or feel about a topic. It is similar to the point of view of a person. Perspectives can are often presented in essays for the reader to take a stance in your perspective, for them to see it the same way as you. Everyone has a different perspective of the world, and it should be understood that it is not always going to be the same.

  4. Based on my prior knowledge, I know that perspective refers mainly to the way a person thinks about something. Perspective also refers to the way someone expresses their point of view on a situation or a topic. People with similar perspectives on a topic will find they agree on a lot of their views on that topic. People with opposing perspectives will find their ideas often clash together.

  5. I think perspectives are different points of view in which you get to analyze different sides of a topic as well. This helps you look at different panoramas of a certain situation or topic to help you understand/comprehend better and it also helps you analyze more in depth whatever you're looking at. Moreover, perspectives also gives you the opportunity to develop the ability of considering more than just one idea and to open your mind instead of thinking of just one way, without even considering different perspectives or points of view.

  6. Perspectives are the respective thinking that you have about something. It is the way that you interpret something, regarding the entire environment. For example if you read a book, you may have a certain perspective about the main character, while another person that read the same exact book, will have an entire different perspective. Each and every person has a different perspective about the things that surround us, is the way that each person lives their reality, and there is not a right or wrong answer in regards to each person's perspective.

  7. Everyone has different perspectives towards controversial topics. This, are the way you look and perceive the topic. Perspectives talk a lot about personal beliefs, since you base them in your previous knowledge. In order to come to conclusions, you need to hear and understand everyones side, since they might have details you did not notice. Every perspective needs to be respected, but it is important for your point of view to get across too.

  8. Perspectives are a claim that has evidence which is presented in an argument. A perspective is reflected in the thesis of an essay, since the thesis has some sort of bias towards a certain point of view. They can not be expressed without support, whether it be an explanation of why they think that way, or factual evidence that supports their perspective. The difference between a perspective and a claim is that a perspective can be established as a solid argument, while a claim is only based on bias or your own reasoning.

  9. Perspectives are the point of view, basically a standpoint, in an issue. Standpoints are the beliefs of a person in an argument. These may be different for everyone since all humans have different opinions on specific topics. A perspective can be observed on the writing of an author or when there is a response to a certain argument.

  10. A perspective is your view point on a certain topic. Each person has their different perspective on things and a lot of things can influence your view point. Your perspective on a topic can be affected by your beliefs, culture, ethnicity, etc... Your perspective is also subject to change when you hear another person's view point and argument. In my opinion, it is important to have prior knowledge on the topic to have a well informed perspective. Additionally, it is also important to be open to other perspectives and not be stubborn with what your view point it.

From what I know thus far, I understand that a perspective is a position someone has regarding a, or from where someone interprets and sees, a certain topic. Perspectives are unique to everyone and to any specific topic, and because of this, they can are almost always biased since they depend on the personal views and current understandings of an individual on whatever the topic at hand is. Due to this, I also understand that perspectives are fallible and not fact; one must not see one's own perspective as the complete truth behind a topic, but rather, a simple slice of it.

  13. A perspective, as learned from the glossary, is a point of view that is conveyed through an argument about a certain topic or issue. Basically, it is one's opinion based on something. It's important to acknowledge that if other's perspective is adopted, stronger arguments can be made; additionally, it makes you develop and open-minded attitude. To conclude and as mentioned, a perspective is how someone perceives and understands things.

  14. Perspectives refer to the way a person sees something, its point of view. The perspectives are very important in our daily life. Constantly we use perspectives at posture, actitude, opinion, etc. Everything we observe and hear. Perspective is used basically when expressing their point of view on a subject. Apart from that, perspectives help us understand each person point of view and succor on abilities of comprehension.

  15. Perspective is the way we see a specific topic. Everyone has different way of seeing something similar or different. For example, the Mona Lisa painting, Some people say she's smiling, others says that she's sad, while the rest says that she's angry. That is perspective. It's the different way they're seeing the situation. It's the different opinions each one has over a situation or theme. Another example of perspective would be the book To Kill A Mockingbird, which is told from the point of view of a boy named Scout in a new town. From his point of view, the town has a lot of racism towards black people and prejudice, but from the point of view from other people who were rich and despited black people, everything was normal for them.

  16. Perspectives make the world controversial. People's perspectives are based on what they know, have experienced, have heard, have seen, throughout their life. Perspectives differ from people and from different topics. Different perspectives interpret stuff differently, and some people do not know how to deal with different perspectives. It is important to learn that people live according to their perspectives and one must be respectful with that.
