Write a 5-row reflection on what you learned about perspectives and how did you feel in your group

  1. I learned that perspectives may change depending on the angle you are looking at it. That there will never be one perspective and they can be influenced by the bias that oneself has on the topic. In my group I felt really good, I think we are going to make a great team because we are all very dedicated to our work and we are open to new ideas that everyone has to say in order to improve our work.

  2. I learned that there are different perspectives a person can have on a specific topic. First of all you need to choose a lens and from that you focus your perspective on. This means there is a wide range of perspectives that a person can have in only one topic. I felt comfortable in my group because we all collaborated and communicated clearly. We shared our opinion freely and joined our ideas to create only one.

  5. I learned the diverse amount of perspectives that a single topic may have. The high amount of perspectives means there will never be a singular perspective and all of them can be inclined towards a certain side due to bias. I felt good with my group and strongly believe I won't have any problem working with them since all of us are hard workers and we remained focus in the task at hand.

  6. A topic may have many types of perspectives, which some of them are social, economic, ethical, philosophical, and political. Every perspective can be different depending on the lenses where these perspectives are being analyzed, which can generate completely different claims. My team is very efficient in communication and I think that I will not have any problems with them. I believe that they are responsible teammates and this will produce an effective cooperation.

  7. Within a topic, there are different lenses, which may be economic, social, legal, philosophical, etc... Within a lens, there are different perspectives. A perspective is the position on the topic of an element in the society that is affected by what is being discussed. Within a perspective, there are different claims supported by evidence that strengthen the position and persuade the audience.

  8. Within a topic, several lenses can exist: economical, social, cultural, etc. and for each topic, each person has different perspectives for the issue. Perspectives can not always be the same since we all have bias towards a side of the issue. I felt comfortable in my group since they are hardworking and responsible teammates. I believe we can all work efficiently and produce a remarkable project.

  9. Through discussion, and although in my team we had a difficult time composing them, after two classes, I was able to understand what a perspective is. A topic has different lenses, and inside of it, various perspectives can be analyzed, which makes one accurately comprehend the problem/question. With each of them, a solution or conclusion that covers all arguments can be created. When these are made, it is important to provide evidence and be open minded to go deeper into the subject, as evaluating it from different views and by different individuals is important to have more opinions and knowledge about it. Regarding my team, I enjoyed the connection and agreeance we had when it comes to our lens. We all gave ideas that enhanced our teamwork and complemented each other well. I think we will produce great results and grow as time goes by.

  10. I learned a lot about perspectives with my group and in class. At first it was hard for my team to develop different lenses and then focus on the main perspective, we actually had to discuss a lot and analyze the topic in order to develop the lenses. After comprehending more about perspectives, I felt more comfortable with my team and with the process of finding lenses. I also learned that a perspective has a lot of parts and it isn't only about different points of views but also about the lenses that can be analyzed and how deep you can get into the topic.

  11. I learned that perspectives depend on people's beliefs, experiences, or even moods. You can have your own perspective but must respect another person's. A topic isn't interesting enough if it does not have several perspectives, that is why working in different groups has created consciousness. Personally, working with my group has provided me knowledge I didn't have and all in a respectful and entertaining way.

  12. Perspectives are really important, since we all have our own. They depend on others values, beliefs, and way of analysing situations. With the topic, our team really connected since we saw the problem clearly. A topic has a lot of perspectives depending on the lenses you are focusing on. I notices, that depending on the lense is how well the team is going to work, since we don´t agree in everything. It is important to hear and share with everyone how you think since they might join you and see it that way too.

  13. Perspectives are the way that people may see a topic. Within a topic there are multiple lenses that can be addressed, and each people will have a perspective regarding those lenses. These way, multiple perspectives of the same lens in a topic can be analyzed, and therefore having the opportunity of learning other perspectives and maybe noticing something that you may not have considered. I feel really comfortable in my group, since I know them since I was little, and I know they are responsible people, with whom I will not have problems working.

  14. Your perspective depends from where you look to an issue. It depends where you live, your race, ethnic group or gender. Lenses are from where you see each issue. It can be economic, social, philosophical etc. It is essential to identify the different perspectives in an issue and learn about each of them to then make an informed decision. Always have your bias in your mind when reading information and not be carried away by it.

  15. I have learned that perspectives are the way people see a topic. However, the perspective a person has can be affected by a variety of factors such as a person's beliefs, customs, and personal situations. Perspectives can be confused with lens, but they are different. Working with my group has been wonderful so far. I feel like me and my group can build on each member's strengths to create great work.

After reviewing, I learned that perspectives—beyond being individual—also reflect our beliefs, values, and personal ways of analyzing certain situations and our own preconceived interpretations and opinions on certain topics. Beyond simple bias, perspective relates to the already-established position someone has. Speaking of positions, my team and I got along relatively well our first time around and things only got less awkward as time went on. I think my team is pretty varied and strong in various areas and now I believe we are ready to begin working in a team.
