In today's activity we organized all of our thoughts into the possible thesis statement that we could base our research paper on. We organized our ideas separating the lenses we are using since we thought that we needed to include the 4 lenses in our thesis. I also reflected that I am going to need to research more credible sources in order to have more research for my paper and give evidence from recognizes authors. I will need to dedicate more time to the bibliographies.
Today's activity involved the creation of our thesis statements for the Individual Research Report. We each did an individual thesis to begin writing on the Outline Worksheet. The topic my team has is very difficult to defend so we might need to search more sources and identify credible ones. It has come to my attention as I read through my sources that I may need more than what I have so I reflected that filling the RAVEN worksheets has allowed me to acknowledge that.
The purpose of today's activity was to develop a thesis statement. The best course of action that our team decided was to each do a different thesis for each perspective we were analyzing. The evidence we found made us reflect on our original point of view and forced us to change the objective of the thesis we originally had. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing, this helped us learn and move on to the next step. The following assignment we each worked on individually were our Source Summary Sheets, which helped us analyze which sources were important to our research.
In today's activity, my team and I had to develop a thesis for the Individual Research Report and also we started our own independent thesis for the Outline Worksheet which we started today as well. Our topic has a lot of different perspectives and it's hard to find information that will support our thesis. We changed our thesis about 2 times because once we read it and read it, we identified some very simple mistakes. Moreover, I need to find more credible information of my lens because the source summary sheet and the RAVEN assignment helped me notice that I need more credibility and trustworthy authors in order to write a credible research paper.

It is very important to have a carefully phrased thesis statement, because it will guide the extension throughout the essay. Next it is important for the team to continue collaborating on the source analysis. I personally need to find more evidence for my IRR.

To write out thesis statement individually, we looked at the presentation on how to do it and I looked at Owl Purdue. I learned that it must not be a fact or a conclusion and it must be arguable. Nonetheless, this thesis statement is subject to change since it might need some correction.

The topic we chose, has many information, it has very useful evidence but we had a hard time yesterday in searching for any counter-arguments. In class, we were discussing if anyone found any counter arguments and nobody did. We will try to find any source that helps us in our own and discuss it tomorrow. Furthermore, there is a lot of evidence in regards of my topic, there is many bias included. I need to search for credible sources that have reliable information so my evidence isn’t affected.
During today´s class, we had anther discussion about our topic and what were going to be our main focuses. The whole team decided to go back and re-check the proper way to state a thesis. Creating it was the main purpose of the class. For a thesis statement to be valid, it can´t be proven or not detailed. Each of us created the thesis statement for the lense we were in charge of. This will give us the base of our papers and a clearer path. We still agree they all need correction, but we made progress on our topic.
Today, my team worked on a thesis statement. We organized the ideas from our research and placed them in a logical order. Then each one of us worked on a thesis statement for the lens of choice. We started to look at the outline and think on the line of reasoning. With this we can make a path of reasoning that helps deliver our argument. Now that we have our path of reasoning and thesis we need to research more and concentrate on reinforcing our arguments. The IRR is on the right course but we need to concentrate on our sources. There has been enough information online to retrieve several sources for each of the areas.
At the beginning of class, everyone was kind of lost on what needed to be done and what was expected for the period. We somewhat lost track of our assignments and the way or order they have to be turned in. However, this was beneficial for us students, since through discussion we were able to reinforce processes and terms such as "thesis" or "line of reasoning". In our teams, we worked on the creation of our thesis statement. We developed one for the whole group after each of us looked at our lenses. It being ready lets us move on to the next step, in which we will organize our claims, evidence, and sources to further produce our IRR's.
ALYSA Today, my team and I worked in our first draft of our thesis. It was a confusing and new process, for which many of us had doubts. This thesis was specific, not like the ones we had done before, and couldn't be factual. However, with the help of our classmates we turned it in. Ms. Marta Laura oriented us on the process to make this thesis statement, and allowed us to ask questions. Thesis' were made individually, as each person had to focus on their lenses.

We supported our thesis statement with perspectives from our lenses. These perspectives were supported by facts, which were gotten from reliable sources that passed RAVEN and Source Summary Sheet. We will then make an outline of the whole IRR, including all four lenses.

This thesis is our start point in order for us to do the Individual Research Report, even though it may change as we continue with the class, it has the main idea. We started to look for more sources in order to continue with our personal lenses, and continue with the planning of the Individual Research Report. After finishing our outline, we will finish our Individual Research Report of the four lenses.
