  4. - Today I learned that each of the members of my team had very different research than mine, but at the same time all of our research concluded with the same thing: alcohol is bad. I learned how to organize and communicate better with my team. We communicated better than before. I also learned how to analyze and discuss in a faster way the bibliography that I was using.
    - For me it is expected to accomplish the specific time that I should need to be talking. Also, it is expected for me to speak fluently when talking and giving just the information necessary for the audience to understand the perspective that I am talking about my topic. In the TMP I will just have clue words in the presentation and I will make it interesting for people to watch.

  6. Today I leaned about accepting what you believe is wrong, and how another solution can have a better outcome in the community. All of us have different sources that contribute to form our perspective as a team. The communication got better between us and we got to catch up with all of our new knowledge about the topic. I learned to have an organized discussion were each of us gained a new perspective.
What I expect from my teams Multimedia Presentation is to share a new way to see the death penalty. I want it to break the expectations, and share information that is not known in society. I expect it to be really fluid with new vocabulary and a simple, but informative visual presentation. Personally, the most important thing for me during this presentation is not loosing the audience. It needs to be interesting from the start to the end, really capturing the audience attention.

  7. I learned about categorization of sources. This helped me in organizing my sources in a way that helps me develop my answer to the research question. For instance, by grouping my sources into different categories, I was able to visualize the strength that both sides of the argument and, this way, I was able to conclude that the side against the lowering of the MLDA was the strongest one.

For the Team Multimedia Presentation, I am expected to explain my argument with reasoning, present with proper techniques, and respond the questions made by the teacher. As a team, we are expected to present a strong argument including all four lenses and equally participate. We also need to come up with a solid solution to the problem.

  8. In today's class I learned how to organize the information into subcategories. We gathered our sources and its main idea and we were able to subcategorize them. By doing so, we identified our strongest argument and topic where we had the most information/evidence. I also learned how to build an argument from the different evidence and solution we each had. We joined our ideas to make up one new idea.

The College Board excepts form the Team Multimedia Presentation to present a convincing argument and a good analysis. However, individually the College Board expects us to engage with the audience. Engaging with the audience not only refers to eye contact and other performance techniques, it also refers to the design of the presentation. This includes, the font, color, images and amount of information in each slide.

  9. Today, I learned about how keeping organization in your findings and sources is key to create a presentable report and reach a simple, concrete answer to a question. With my team, we categorized our sources and subjected them to comparison in order to determine what they have in common. After doing that, it is easier to reach a conclusion as to where the group research is headed towards and continue there.

For the Team Multimedia Presentation, I am expected to deliver a well-structured analysis of the argument from my findings. My contribution to the team presentation is expected to be enrich the my teammate's analysis as much as theirs enrich my own. Clean, legible, and understandable visual media is also expected from me so that the audience can be delivered a complete presentation of my topic.

  10. I learned from rating the samples of the IRRs when comparing them to the ratings of the College Board how I should evaluate my own writing. For example, when rating analysis of arguments, I understood from the ratings given by the College Board that every piece of evidence needs some sort of analysis to obtain the highest rating. It gave me a reflection on how each area is graded when it is the best and when it misses something.

What I expect from my Team Multimedia Presentation is that it is structured concisely, meaning that every slide has almost no information, only includes the central ideas of the research question and the most important evidence that can be summarized effectively. Each member will know their part and explain, but everybody will know what each person is going to say (however, this is not completely necessary).

  11. In yesterdays and todays class I learned that not all arguments are the same, even if they are of the same topic or even lens. Some arguments are more valid or credible than others. Checking or revising others arguments in their paper with the IRR rubric, which is the one of the college board, can help me improve my own paper since I can see what is needed for a research paper and what are the common mistakes.
For my Multimedia Presentation, individually its is expected to be responsible, organized and be able to accept and listen to my team members opinions and point of view. It is fundamental to work together with my group in an organized and responsible way in order to achieve our goals and provide a great and professional presentation about our topic.

  12. Yesterday in AP Seminar class, we did the Affinity Map for Task #1. In this activity, my team used post-its to write their sources, the main idea and solutions of those, and then placed them on our poster where the research question was located. After organizing the post-its in sections, my team and I had a discussion on what a possible solution would be. This made me learn our different perspectives on the same topic.
After discussing with my team, I expect for the Team Multimedia Presentation that I can fully provide a well developed argument and structure. I am expected to engage the audience and convince them about our arguments including all the lenses. Mostly, it is expected that the whole team works equally and give a well researched presentation of the topic.

  13. Yesterday during class, my team and I worked on the Affinity Map for Task #1. It was an eye-opener activity because we had to write all of our sources and the main idea of each. After that, we had to organize them in different categories (in favor, against, information, strong arguments, etc.) I reflected on how many perspectives there are and the amount of information each of us found. Now, this activity help me realize that there's also many points of views of the same topic and that getting to a conclusion about the same topic might be a bit challenging.

For the team Multimedia Presentation, I learned that I have to convey/engage the audience, present a strong argument, analyze the context, make the presentation concise and well-structured, among other important points that my team is still working on. To get to a conclusion, was something that took a lot of time, discussing all of our information was a long process and we're still trying to reach a solution/conclusion in order to present a strong argument.

Yesterday, my teammates and I, collected our information and divide them into different sections. We examined and discussed to distribute each evidence into a category and form a panorama towards the topic. Communication helped us organize and finish quicker. Preparing the sources helped me answer my research question. By checking the other references from my classmates, it helped me get more convincing arguments that would help me show evidence in my paper.

For my Multimedia Presentation, what I expect individually is to be clear and concise in the information that I demonstrate. Have valid arguments that are supported by evidence. Give my best while explaining something and try to solve the doubts my classmates have. Furthermore, I will try to be responsible for submitting a well-done slide presentation. My goal is to show a professional presentation to all of my classmates.

  15. In today's class, I continue to learn how to work in teams and the benefits that come from it, such as the sharing of ideas which expand my ideas itself. My teammates and I provided a solution to our problem, which allowed me to include the new ideas in my IRR due tomorrow. I also learned how to have a calm discussion and exchange of ideas with my classmates.

From my Multimedia Team Presentation I expect to demonstrate the hard work my teammates and I have put on our research. We all expect to reflect our investigations in an organized an concise way. I expect to be brief but not miss any important idea, as well as continuing to focus on researching and solving this topic with the help of my teammates. I entirely expect to have a great visual presentation of myself and my slides.

  16. In today's class, I learned how to separate sources into groups, in order to take full advantage of them, and be able to have more organized ideas. I continued to learn how to work in teams since we had to share our sources, and we are starting our Team Multimedia Presentation, so we need to collaborate to achieve a great and successful presentation.

In the Team Multimedia Presentation I am expected to show or demonstrate a convincing argument that answers the team question, supported by evidence. I am expected to show the multiple options (Pros and Cons) of the theme, engage the audience with visual techniques, have a good and clear overall design to attract the visual area in the audience, and provide detailed explanations for all our arguments.

On yesterday's AP Seminar class, I learned more about the importance of working as a team by working on an Affinity Map for Task #1, which consisted of collecting and classifying the different sources we used for our IRRs. This was done in order for us to properly establish the overall solution we would present for our Team Multimedia Presentation about our Research Question. This taught me how to connect different ideas, arguments, and perspectives in order to reach a conclusion that agreed with our individual research and could propose a solution to the question we formed earlier in the year.

Finally, on the topic of the Team Multimedia Presentation, I as an individual am expected to establish my particular lens, a well-structured analysis of my own argument related to my findings related to my lens, and a proper understanding of the topic my IRR discusses. My work in for the team's presentation is expected to increase the validity of my teammate's individual research and arguments as well as my own; besides connecting the my own lens with the others'. Furthermore, I'm expected to create and present media that is clean, understandable, and of quality in order to serve as a background to my presentation.

  18. In yesterday’s class, my team and I wrote our sources in post-its and separated them into 3 different sections, which were Background Information, In Favor, and Against. Today, we discussed our findings regarding the topic and we made our conclusion as well as possible solutions to our problem. From all of this, I learned how to organize sources and data to create a better argument as well as I learned that despite having different perspectives or lenses, this may lead to the same conclusion or goal.

From the Team Multimedia Presentation, I expect to fulfill the required time to speak and not for longer. I also expect to speak fluently and explain the argument with proper evidence to make myself clear and not confuse the audience. Besides this, I expect to engage the entire time the audience and say the majority of the information verbally without looking at the slide show. Lastly, I expect to participate with my team so that we know what we’re going to talk in the presentation.

  19. In today's class I learned how to categorize the topics and sources that were used in the IRR. 3 sections were the ones we used to separate them: Background Information, In Favor, and Against. In our groups, we established the overall argument as well as the solution for our topic. Discussing helped me gain the perspectives from my peers which will subsequently contribute to our final presentation.

From the Team Multimedia Presentation, I am expected to offer a convincing argument along with evidence that supports it, as well as the implications and limitations of the exposed solution, and to use techniques that engage the audience. The design has to have no errors and the elements used in it help clear up what is being presented. When Ms. Martha Laura gets to the oral defense part, I should know and participate when it comes to the lenses introduced.
